COMMUNITY MEETING – posted 2nd December – thank you to those who attended our School Community meeting held on the evening of the 1st December. A newsletter was sent home with all students on the 26th November inviting all parents and caregivers to contribute to the School Charter for 2012. This was an important meeting and I encourage all parents and caregivers to take every opportunity to attend these meetings. The meeting provided an excellent environment where teacher’s, parents and students worked together to identify meaningful strategies to ensure students received the best quality education available. It was also mentioned at the meeting that some students are not taking home the school newsletters and some homes also do not have access to the internet. As a result the school will be looking at the option of communicating with parents via text messaging. It is important that we explore all avenues of communication to keep our school community informed. View feedback here
Our first steps - posted 10th September 2011
The school community meeting recently held in the school hall was a great success with over 70 people attending. The main purpose of the meeting was to forge a pathway into the future while reconnecting with our community; this was achieved. The passion and support for the college that came out of the meeting is very encouraging. The feedback is being compiled into a format that will be easy for everyone to understand and this information will be available for your perusal by the end of term 3. A big thank you to all kaumatua, kuia, parents, caregivers, friends and principals who made the night successful. This is the passion and support that will guide Whangaroa College into the future with confidence and purpose. Together we have taken our first steps on our amazing journey to success.
