A WORD  FROM OUR CHAIRPERSON!

Kia ora tamariki, whanau and community.

Welcome!

My name is Colleen Sherwin and I am the Chairperson on the Board of Trustees for Whangaroa College.

I am originally from Waitangi/Oromahoe and have lived in Kaeo for around 16 years. My partner Rhys and I have owned a share milking business for 14 years and I have worked full time at a community centre (Totara North Early Childhood Centre) for 14 years, with the last 9 years being the Manager/Head Teacher. We have two daughters Anna-lee and Terhysa who both attend Whangaroa College.

My passion is Tamariki, Whanau, Education and Community.

Whangaroa College has a very exciting year full of change ahead of us. Support, manaaki, aroha, relationships and time are all key areas together we, as a school community, can build stronger in and around the college. A great place to start is to join our whanau focus group and get involved in our college and community. Our meetings will be monthly with reminders and dates posted. The more hands and brilliant minds we have, the better, so please join us! .

Thank you for this opportunity to be part of creating pathways for our creators, thinkers, problem solvers, leaders and doers yet to evolve in our unique and special community.

Looking forward to a great year.

Colleen Sherwin

Chairperson, Board of Trustees.
